Samsung have just revealed their Windows phone 8 handset which makes them the first to do so and the device has the name of the Activ S.
Activ S makes us question the plastic choices of Samsung Galaxy S3
It comes with a superb 4.8 inch display of Super AMOLED, a 1.5GHz processor, 8-megapixel rear shooter and 1.9 megapixel front camera. The handset was announced on the blog of Microsoft shortly before the Unpacked event. It is just 8.7mm, it has 1GB of RAM and is available in either 16GB or 32GB with support for a microSD card. The battery is 2,300mAh and it has Gorilla Glass and a physical Windows button.
At the moment all we know is that the handset performs great and Samsung have put the device out as part of a larger ecosystem which the company say they are uniquely able to provide. The device has what Samsung have termed as a chic hairline design which puts the plastic look of the Samsung Galaxy S3 to shame.
Samsung Galaxy S3 of course is a world-class device and its only criticism when it launched was its glossy plastic body that made it appear to be a far from premium looking device. Now that it is obvious Samsung knows how to build a good-looking aluminum unibody smartphone, here’s hoping the Samsung Galaxy range gets the same treatment eventually.
