Samsung are not well known to be the fastest when it comes to getting updates out. However it seems that they would like to change this. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is rolling out for some Samsung Galaxy S3 models in what could be called record time, while the S2 has already been promised the update.
Samsung Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean update just behind S3
It is thought that the Samsung Galaxy S2 will not be too far behind in getting the update, and it will happen along with the original Galaxy Note within the year. Some of the early confirmations for the update, as expected, come to us by way of Samsung Europe.
GadgetInsiders report that in Denmark it has been confirmed through Facebook that the update for the Samsung Galaxy S2 will arrive in Denmark in November. Samsung in Sweden have not been as precise when it comes to details about the update. They said that the update would come within the fourth quarter. European confirmations have been followed by statements coming from carriers in Canada and they have also given a launch window.
Telus have released their upgrade schedule and one of the devices you can get through them is the Samsung Galaxy S3, which comes with the Snapdragon S4 processor and compatibility for LTE in North America. This device will be the first to get Jelly Bean. this is then to be followed by the S2 and the Note, which is expected to be updated at some time in late December. So it looks like the S2 is just weeks behind the S3 to Jelly Bean.
