Samsung have historically been late when it comes to rolling out Android updates, but it looks like this is about to change, as it’s rolling Jelly Bean out to the Samsung Galaxy S3 pronto! They have also promised Jelly Bean to the Samsung Galaxy S2.
Samsung Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean update right behind S3
Many think that the Samsung Galaxy S2 will get JB soon after the S3 gets it. The update will also hit the Note, but not until the Samsung Galaxy S2 has it. This should happen sometime in December, and confirmation of this has come from Samsung Europe.
GadgetInsiders says that Samsung Denmark also posted a Facebook message announcing that the S2 would get Jelly Bean in November, which as you can tell is a little late now. Samsung Sweden hasn’t given a month, but says it’ll happen in Q4 which clearly just leaves this month – December. Canadian networks have also said this, so it looks like a 2012 rollout all round.
If all goes well, then, the Samsung Galaxy and the S3 Jelly Bean rollout globally will be finished within the month. Verizon of course doesn’t have the Samsung Galaxy S2, so it’s only AT&T that we need to worry about not delivering before the holiday season given that both these carriers are lagging with the Samsung Galaxy S3 already. We’ll be crossing our fingers that Sprint and T-Mobile deliver a Jelly Bean Christmas for S2 owners.
