Samsung have always been known as the slow boat when it comes to updates, but it seems they want to overturn this reputation. It’s been rolling out Jelly Bean for the Samsung Galaxy S3 in double time, and has also promised Jelly Bean for the S2 already.
Samsung Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean update hot on the heels of S3
A lot of people think that the Samsung Galaxy S2 will get the Jelly Bean update shortly after the S3 gets it. The update will also reach the Galaxy Note but only after S2 has the honors. This should happen before the end of the year, and confirmations of this have come through Samsung Europe.
According to Gadgetinsiders, Samsung Denmark has put a message on Facebook to say that the Samsung Galaxy S2 will get the update in November. Over in neighbouring Sweden, there are no definite plans or details, except that the update will roll out in Q4. Canadian carriers have also told customers this, so we’re all in the same boat for a 2012 rollout.
So, if all goes well, the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Samsung Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean roll out will be just weeks apart. Given that Verizon is carrying the Samsung Galaxy S2, it is only AT&T that we have doubts about delivering it before the holidays. We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed. T-Mobile and Sprint look right in our books.
