When it comes down to getting out updates in a timely manner, Samsung don’t have all that good of a track record. However with Jelly Bean they do seem to have done better as the update is rolling out to the Samsung Galaxy S3 for weeks now and they have said that the update for the Galaxy S2 will be following closely after.
Samsung Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean update next in line after S3
Some people are saying that the update for the Samsung Galaxy S2 will happen just after Jelly Bean has completed its world tour for the S3. The Note is also to get updated; however this will be behind the Galaxy S2 suggest the numerous announcements. It is thought that tall his will happen at some point this month and Samsung reps in Europe have confirmed this.
According to GadgetInsiders Samsung in Denmark have said through Facebook that the Samsung Galaxy S2 would be getting updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in November, however this didn’t happen. Over in Sweden Samsung say that the update will happen in Q4, so they must mean December. Canadian networks have also said the same, so it seems like Jelly Bean will be the Christmas present from Samsung Galaxy S2 owners.
So before the year is out the rollout for Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S3 should be complete and the S2 should start. Luckily Verizon doesn’t have the Samsung Galaxy S2 as they seem to be the only US carrier of the top 4 that hasn’t got its act together with the S3 Jelly Bean update yet. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed that Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile are able to get Jelly Bean out to owners of the Samsung Galaxy S2 by Christmas Eve.
