Samsung has been notorious for being tardy with updates in the past, but with Jelly Bean it seems to have got its act together somewhat, as it rolled this bump up out in record time to the Samsung Galaxy S3. It also looks like the Samsung Galaxy S2 will be getting in on the act before 2013 gets much older.
Samsung Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean update tailing Samsung Galaxy S3
Word on the street is that the Samsung Galaxy S2 would be getting the Jelly Bean update after it rolled out to the Galaxy S3 worldwide. The original Galaxy Note was also believed to be in the queue, and it now seems that it is just in front as some Galaxy Note units have already received the Jelly Bean bump.
There has been quite a bit of confirmation from Samsung Europe about the Samsung Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean update of course. While no dates were given, we at the least knew it was a shoe-in.
Now with the Samsung Galaxy S3 already having the update alongside the Note 2, and the original Note just getting the update, there’s no excuse for the Galaxy S2 any longer.
If all goes well, the Jelly Bean rollout for the Samsung Galaxy S2 might be over and done with before we get into spring. Verizon doesn’t carry the Samsung Galaxy S2, so that’s one network we don’t need to worry about especially as it is the slowest when it comes to updates! So, let’s keep our eyes on AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile to bump up the Samsung Galaxy S2 to Jelly Bean and put a new spring (d’ya see what I did there?) in its step.
