Samsung have never been at the top of the class in regards to getting updates out for their handsets. However this time around they deserve as “A” as they have rolled out Jelly Bean for the Samsung Galaxy S3 in a timely manner. Now is seems that they will also be updating the Galaxy S2 to Jelly Bean too, but when?
Samsung Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean update now all clear for rollout as S3 completed
There are many that believe that the Samsung Galaxy S2 will get the update soon after the Galaxy S3. The Note is said to be getting the update too, but it has been said that this will follow after the Galaxy S2 has received Jelly Bean. Samsung Europe said that the update would be out in December, so it should be any day now.
Over in Denmark, Samsung said through Facebook that the Samsung Galaxy S2 would get updated to Jelly Bean in November right after the S3. However this didn’t happen as we are now in December. Over in Sweden, Samsung said that the update would happen during Q4, as there is now only two weeks left in December, it should happen very soon if they are to keep to schedule. Samsung in Canada have said the same thing, so if all goes to plan owners of the Samsung Galaxy S2 will get Jelly Bean for Christmas.
The rollout of Jelly Bean should be completed for the Samsung Galaxy S3 before 2013 arrives, so those owing the Galaxy S2 should start to receive the update right after given the statements by the Samsung reps. Verizon finally got their act together and they have updated the Galaxy S3 to Jelly Bean, which stated rolling out on 14th December. Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile have had the update for the Galaxy S3 out for some time. Now all the attention is turned on who will be the first of the US carriers to offer Jelly Bean for the Samsung Galaxy S2.
