Samsung are not well known for getting out updates in a timely manner, but it seems that they may have got their act together with Jelly Bean as they have been rolling it out for the Samsung Galaxy S3 for some time now. And now the update is on its way to the Samsung Galaxy S2. So when can we expect to see it?
Samsung Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean update status
There are some that say that the Samsung Galaxy S2 will get the update to Jelly Bean soon after the Galaxy S3 has been updated. The Samsung Galaxy Note is also getting the update, however this will perhaps be behind the S2 suggest reports. It is thought that the update will come out some time during December, as reps from Samsung in Europe have confirmed it.
Samsung in Denmark, according to GadgetInsiders, posted on Facebook that the update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the Samsung Galaxy S2, would happen in November. However November came and went and the update didn’t happen. In Sweden, Samsung said that the update will come in Q4 and so this must now be December. In Canada the word on the Jelly Bean update is the same and so it looks very much like it will be Samsung’s Christmas gift to owners of the year old S2.
Before we go into 2013 the Jelly Bean rollout should be complete for the Samsung Galaxy S3 and hence owners of the Galaxy S2 will have started to get the update too. Verizon have finally updated their Samsung Galaxy S3, with the update rolling out just today (December 14). They join AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile who have already updated the S2. Everyone is now looking towards Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile to deliver the Jelly Bean update to those who own the Samsung Galaxy S2.
