Samsung Korea have given confirmation that the Samsung Galaxy S2 will be getting update to Android Jelly Bean. This is after months of uncertainty of whether or not the aging Galaxy phone would get the green light for the latest update.
Samsung Galaxy S2 Android Jelly Bean 4.1 update confirmed
They have given details about the update on their official website, however they failed to mention when the update would be ready for owners of the Samsung Galaxy S2.
The update will bring a host of new features, including Google Now, Project Butter, along with Google Play Movies, Google Play Books and Google+
The update will take 1GB of storage and this is down to the system partition and it is thought that the update will take around 1 hour to download.
Along with the Jelly Bean update, Samsung will offer owners of the Samsung Galaxy S2 some of the features of the Samsung Galaxy S3. Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S2 will have Smart Stay, this stops the screen from dimming while you are looking at the device. The camera app will also let you pause when you are recording.
Pop-up Play is also a feature, allowing users to watch a video while they browse the web, email or text.
The update will breathe new life into what has to be one of the best devices in the smartphone era. For now however we have to be patient, but then we know this when waiting for updates from Android.
