The Samsung Galaxy Note is the latest Android smartphone to receive the Android Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade. Announced earlier this week, the humungous phablet recently received the bump up to the Android Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade over in Europe. The model in particular to get this honor was GT-N7000.

Now if you happened to have bought your Samsung Galaxy Note off Amazon or eBay and think you have the international variant, you can check by rebooting the device. On startup you will see the model name flashed during the boot animation. If you see GT-N7000 then today is your lucky day as you won’t have to wait any longer to grab the update.
The folks over at XDA-Developers forums have extracted the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade ROM and put it up along with instructions on how to update your Galaxy Note with it. The catch is you need to root your device so if you’re comfortable with that the follow the link at the bottom.
