If you purchased the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 along with the Samsung Gear VR you will know by now that you have to give the Note 7 back due to the faults with the batteries. Oculus already disabled the Gear VR app remotely so you cannot use it. What is strange is that Samsung wants the Note 7 but they don’t want the Gear VR back. You cannot send it back along with the handset.
There are many people who chose to buy the Samsung Galaxy VR and the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 as a bundle. But as you have to send your phone back, what happens with the VR?
One Redditor said that they tried to return the Samsung Galaxy Gear VR with the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 as they don’t have any need for it as they don’t have the phone. A rep for Samsung said that they couldn’t give them a refund on the VR. This was down to the fact that the goggles could be used with any other Samsung device.
It appears that many other people have bought the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 along with the Samsung Galaxy Gear VR as a package. Surely if the handset has to be returned due to a fault of the phone maker and they were bought together as a package, Samsung should honor it and give a refund on the VR too.
Did you buy the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and Samsung Galaxy Gear VR as a package and have you been left holding the Gear?
