Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Battery Life: Nothing To Boast About

By  |

Without a doubt, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 proves to be one of the best phablets out there, even after its recent release few months ago. And it’s almost always good most of the time, in terms of the upgrading of their screen size and battery life. Unfortunately, that’s not the case with the latest Note 5, as the battery lifespan is really nothing much out of the ordinary.

For the unfamiliar, the Note 5 packs a 3,000mAh battery which, surprisingly, is smaller than what the Note 4 had. Of course, this had us worried. Plus the fact that even with 27 hours and 30 minutes on a full charge, it’s still slightly below the Galaxy Note 4 (with 28 hours and 46 minutes), which is rather disappointing.

That’s not all. To make matters worse, the recent Android updates doesn’t seem to be acting well on the Galaxy Note 5’s battery life too. And let’s not even begin with users taking it out on the forums complaining about the degrading lifespan with every update.

Do you have any bad experience with your Samsung Galaxy Note 5?

I get a full day out of my Note 5 battery. I am a moderate user. Frequented apps are Instagram, Clash of Clans, Spotify, Google Maps and Youtube. I also read google news regularly. It is fully updated and I like my screen at 3/4 brightness. I do work so I do not have my phone in front of my face all day. I also keep a charger at my desk, in my car and by my nightstand. I think the battery is on par or better than other phones I’ve used.

You forgot to mention that you cant replace the battery very easily either. At least with my Note 4, I can buy a 3rd party high capacity battery and new back plate if I need more battery time. This is not an option on note 5.
New updates on Note 4 seem to be sucking power from those batteries as well.

My Note 5 is down to 85% by the time I leave for work at 7am. I have to keep a charger at work and plug it in by noon.

I’m using the dual sim version of Note 5 and to tell you that the battery life is pathetic would be an understatement! I’m a heavy user and one full charge hardly lasts me 3 hours! I have to charge it 4-5 times a day. Waiting for the day when I’ll get a smartphone which will last me thru the day on one single charge.
