If you are waiting for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to come out running the very latest OS, you may be in for a big shock. There is a rumor that the handset will be released with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as opposed to 4.1 Jelly Bean despite the newer OS being announced sometime back and already popping up on various devices.
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 & Motorola DROID RAZR HD to launch with Ice Cream Sandwich instead (rumor)
You do have to bear in mind that Samsung are not the fastest when it comes to offering updates so the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 launching with Ice Cream Sandwich may be frowned upon especially if you think it will be right around the corner.. Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and S2 along with the original Note are at the moment still waiting for their Jelly Bean update.
There may also be a big disappointment for those waiting for the Motorola Droid Razr HD. This is also thought to be launching with Android 4.0 as we’ve seen from numerous leaked videos, even though Jelly Bean is out and the RAZR HD is only expected to launch sometime in October. Bear in mind that it was almost 6 months before the Razr Maxx got the update to ICS so if the rumours are true users might have to wait until next year before the Motorola DROID RAZR HD sees Jelly Bean, by which time there maybe an other major Android update already announced.
One has to wonder why manufacturers would consider releasing flagship devices with outdated software when a newer version is out already.
