It looks like Lenovo is going to release a quad-core phone in July. It could well be the third smartphone to be equipped with the 1.4GHz Samsung Exynos 4412 processor – the first two are the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Meizu MX 4-core. The device has been seen applying for a network access license from the Chinese regulator MIIT.
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 rival tipped to be coming from Lenovo next month
The phone weighs 185g and is 143.6×74.5×9.6mm, which is a bit heavier than the Samsung Galaxy Note. Specs wise, it’ll run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, will have a 5-inch full HD (1280×720 pixel resolution) display, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory and (probably) a microSD card slot for memory extension. There may also be a 2MP front-facing webcam and an 8MP rear-facing camera with an LED flash.
This phone is set to hit the Chinese market sometime in July, but there’s no news as yet about whether it’ll be available in Europe or America. There’s no word on price, either.
Now if you’ve been following Samsung Galaxy Note 2 rumors then you will realize that it shares almost the same specs as this mystery Lenovo device, right down to the processor and 8-megapixel camera.
