HTC are getting ready to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 by way of an extra-large handset. The device which is unannounced was seen in a now deleted forum and it seems to match a handset that HTC was rumored to have been working on. At the moment there is no news on when the 5 inch display device may be released or even when HTC may announce it.
HTC’s Samsung Galaxy Note 2 killer leaked
Images leaked online show a screen of 5 inches which is said to be 1794 x 1080 HD and it has a front and back camera. The camera on the back comes with LED flash and according to the photos there is red trim on the handset which some believe means that it will be on the Verizon network. It doesn’t look as though the handset will have support for stylus as the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 does, and it seems to have Beats Audio.
More details about the HTC phablet are unavailable although it has been said that the unit is the one that was seen on benchmarking sites last month. This handset has a 1.5GHz processor that blasted the Qualcomm S4 out of the water and was then given the name of the next generation chip. The device was running Android 4.0.4.
Samsung have done well with the sales of their Galaxy Note and this has not failed to attract attention from other manufacturers such as LG who have the Optimus Vu. HTC could be entering the phablet market to try and boost their sales which have been dismal. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 of course was revealed earlier last week at IFA and is no lightweight either.
