Owners of the PS3 are waiting for the arrival of the first DLC on the console, which will be Dragonborn. Bethesda has said that the DLC will be heading to the PS3 early 2013. Owners of the PS3 have pointed out that when they bought Skyrim the box said that DLCs would be available for the game. Owners of the Xbox 360 have had 3 DLC packs, but Dragonborn will be the first to be released on PS3.
PS3 Skyrim Dragonborn release date may not be this month
Pete Hines went on Twitter and had a conversation with one owner of the PS3 who is not very happy about delays to the DLC for the console. PS3 owners will not be happy about the conversation as Bethesda are not giving out any information about when they will release the DLC even today. This means that more than likely it will be February before we see the DLC released.
The conversation on Twitter was as follows:
@DCDeacon when can we be expecting dragonborn on ps3 I’m so tired of this whole mess.
@Kyle_lobcity will get you a date as soon as I can.
@DCDeacon surely we deserve a bit more than that don’t you think? That’s the same answer we were getting for dawnguard. Look how that went..
@kyle_lobcity no, we said we were still working on Dawnguard. We have committed to Dragonborn release. Just haven’t announced date yet — Pete Hines (@DCDeacon)
The conversation was brought to a halt with the owner of the PS3 saying that he thought it was all bulls—t.
The blame doesn’t all lie at the feet of Pete Hines of course and Bethesda does seem to be taking things more seriously. Hines cannot say anything until he has permission to do so and bear in mind that Bethesda might not even have a release date at this moment in time. While they said that it would be out in early 2013 it could be anytime from now, to April or May.
The Twitter conversation did make us aware of one thing and this is that Bethesda has put Dawnguard on hold, at least for now. This means that the rumours will not pan out about the DLCs coming out together.
Many PS3 owners are fed up with Bethesda saying the same over and over again. This has happened since they released Dawnguard in June for the Xbox 360.
Bethesda need better skills in public relations as they have avoided answering any of the questions that gamers have asked. Instead they have provided answers that have been vague. When fans ask questions that are direct then they want answers that are direct.
Once again Bethesda has disappointed PS3 owners as they wait for the first DLC to be released. If only Bethesda could have given them some indication of when to expect the DLC. Bear in mind that when they bought Skyrim the game cost owners of the PS3 the same amount as those on the Xbox 360, and as yet they haven’t had one DLC.
For the time being the only good news has been that Dragonborn will arrive early 2013. But this may mean any time before the middle of the year. PS3 fans should not wait with baited breath for the release as it could be some time away yet. Bear in mind that Bethesda told owners of the Xbox 360 the Dragoborn DLC release date two weeks before the DLC was released. As January is half way through it could now be February before the DLC gets to the PS3.
