Some time ago we showed readers an email response from Mazda that told us about the fate of the Mazda RX-Series. Of course people wanted to know more about the successor to the RX-8, so we asked Mazda some questions about when the vehicle is going to come our way.
Mazda said that they are going to bring out the Mazda RX-9 when they have finished up the development of the rotary engine. Today we are hearing reports that this engine is entering into the final stages of the development and it should be ready by 2018.
When the rotary engine is ready Mazda will finalize the design and the technology of the Mazda RX-9 and then they will go ahead with the production of the vehicle. All reports seem to suggest that the vehicle is going to be out in 2020.
At the moment there is no concrete evidence about this and we have asked Mazda for confirmation about it and we will let you know what happens as soon as they get back to us.
