The emission scandal that got Volkswagen in trouble has now spread to Porsche and Audi. According to Reuters, Porsche is now being investigated for false advertising and fraud.
The model that is at the centre of the scandal right now is the Porsche Cayenne which was powered by a 3.0-liter diesel engine. The engine was taken from Audi who is also being investigated for the same reason right now.
The Porshe Cayenne is being accused of producing excess emissions that are far more than what the regulation permits. The investigation has just started but if it does lead to something, Porsche could be in some serious trouble.
Reports claim that Porsche is cooperating with the investigation. When Der Spiegel first made the claim that TUV Nord discovered the issue, Porsche came out to announce that the claims were “not comprehensible”.
