When the Honda Odyssey first came to the market it was innovative among the minivan segment. While it is popular with families it really isn’t living up to the standards it first set out.
Now that we have entered a new year the minivan segment did leave the old year on something of a high note as it did achieve growth that was promising. The big demand for pickups and crossovers does seem to have spilled over.
The Honda Odyssey hasn’t been in the lead when it comes to growth as it has had to take something of a backseat to the Chrysler Pacifica, this is a vehicle that has now taken over from the Dodge Town and Country.
110, 435 units of the Honda Odyssey were sold but this was a drop of 4.7% when you look at the same period in 2015. The Toyota Sienna also saw a drop and this was 6.8%, however it still managed to sell better than the Odyssey.
The FCA are the leaders among the small segment thanks to the Dodge Grand Caravan, which has seen sales of 120, 991 so far and this means the vehicle has enjoyed a growth of 34.7%.
The combined sales of the Chrysler Pacifica along with the Town and Country came in at 110, 888. This means that the Odyssey has been overshadowed in the minivan segment.
We are going to have to wait to find out what Honda offers with the 2018 Honda Odyssey and hope that it sells better.
