The AT&T Nokia Lumia 920 is finally available for tech gurus to dissect and judge. The folks over at TheVerge for one have already done so in their full Nokia Lumia 920 write up. The verdict was filled with mixed reactions as it came out below both the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S3.
Nokia Lumia 920 review shows WP8 can’t match iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy S3
According to TheVerge, a lot of the bad points of the old Windows Phone OS have been done away with in the latest version, and Nokia have provided a good platform for Windows Phone 8 courtesy of the Lumia 920. This includes improvements when it comes to multi-tasking and speed, along with the device being better for connections to the Xbox and SkyDrive. The Nokia Lumia 920 comes with its fair share of pros and cons, as does every other handset.
On the positive side is the PureView camera, this is superb in low light. The display is very responsive and it is large and Nokia have made multiple enhancements to the software.
On the downside the Nokia Lumia 920 is very heavy and it is bulky looking and the ecosystem is still lacking. There have also been some issues with LTE reception.
Microsoft has remedied many of the complaints from developers and more apps are making their way to the device. However when it comes down to it there is still a lack of apps compared to what is available on other platforms.
The Verge gave the Nokia Lumia 920 an overall score of 7.9. This is quite disappointing when you look at the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 5 reviews where the smartphones scored 8.5 and 8.8 respectively.
