Nissan hasn’t said anything about the next generation Nissan Leaf, even though it has been given a great deal of hype along with the Tesla Model 3. At the moment we don’t have any idea about what technology to expect on the hatchback.
One of the most hyped features of the Nissan Leaf is the ProPilot semi-autonomous driving system. It is thought that this is going to be tested out in Japan and the first vehicle to make it to production might be the Nissan Serena minivan. The ProPilot should then make its way to the market in the US.
Nissan hasn’t said when we can expect the Nissan Leaf to arrive or if the vehicle is going to come with the ProPilot in the US.
The ProPilot may come in the new Nissan Leaf or it could arrive in a different vehicle. While there are other autonomous systems on the market the ProPilot is different in that it can be used in dense traffic conditions. However for 2017 it will be limited to just single lane features, it is thought it will come into its own by 2020 when it will be used on congested city streets.
