Nissan Hopes To Copy Appeal Of Toyota Prius And Chevrolet Volt

By  |

Nissan do things out of the box and they proved this with the launch of the Nissan Leaf. They launched the electric vehicle when really no one was confident that electric vehicles would take off.

They took a big gamble that did pay off with the Nissan Leaf as today it is known as the most recognised of the electric vehicle son the market. Carmakers who went the hybrid route also enjoyed big achievements and they are going on to make EVs.

Nissan want to do things the other way around and now they want to copy the appeal of the Toyota Prius and Chevrolet Volt and compete with them with a hybrid vehicle of their own. We are talking about the Note E-Power, which is going to be a unique hybrid that will stand out above others.

The Nissan Note E-Power is going to offer the powertrain of the Leaf but it will also have a gas engine for powering the batteries. The engine in it is only going to be there for a generator and it isn’t going to send power to the wheels of the vehicle.

At the moment Nissan hasn’t given out any figures for the Note E-Power but it has been said that it is going to be the cheapest hybrid on the market. You will be able to get behind the wheel for $15, 577 and this means that Nissan are going to have an advantage over the Toyota Prius and Chevrolet Volt.
