Next Subaru Crosstrek To Be A Tall SUV, Not Crossover

By  |

Subaru has revealed that certain departments are going to be changed to reflect the electrification efforts of vehicles. This is also set to include organizational along with management adjustments and alterations to the department. The first of the models with electrified departments may be a Subaru Crosstrek plug-in hybrid.

The HEV Design Department of Subaru has been changed to the Electrified Power Unit Design Dept. The changes are said to be in coordination with the development of a new global platform that has been seen on the 2017 Subaru Impreza sedan along with the five door that is heading our way later this year.

Subaru have said that the global platform is going to allow the departments that have taken on a new name to design a concept for development of all of their vehicles that may be adapted to electrification at some point in the future.

A plug-in hybrid vehicle is planned to head to the roads of North America and it has been said that they are working so as to comply with the zero emission standards of vehicles that are coming into effect in 2018.

We are expecting to see a 3 row crossover in the US and this should take the place of the Tribeca and will do well in the all-wheel drive lineup and will be powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Subaru could be about to launch a new plug-in hybrid in North America in 2018 and this may be the 2018 Subaru Crosstrek.
