Toyota has announced the launch of the next generation Toyota 86 and we can reveal that the vehicle is coming in Q3 2016. When it arrives it is going to take over from the Scion FR-S along with the prior version of the 86. While the new model is going to have the same 4 cylinder engine, it is going to offer 205 horses as opposed to 200 horsepower.
Toyota didn’t want to ruin the drivability of the Toyota 86 so the power bump up is just small. They also pointed out that they have fixed the issues in the 86, including the midrange RPM performance that was poor.
The new Toyota 86 is going to be much the same as the model out now but performance should finally be able to match the price tag and looks of the vehicle. The countdown is now on as the official date for release is said to be August 1.
Toyota confirmed the date and they have made a concept version of the Toyota 86 available so that anyone interested can get a closer look at it.
