It is now thought that the Motorola X may be the next Nexus handset which has been said to be the Nexus X.
The new handset of Motorola was given the label of the Motorola X and this was said to be a device that was independent of the Nexus name.
It was said to be coming with Android 5, which is Key Lime Pie and it was rumoured that it would have a display of 5 inches and offer 440ppi.
It was also mentioned that the handset could be launched at Google I/O on 15th May, with some people saying that it would be released into Google Play Store around June or July of this year.
New rumours are pointing to the device having the Nexus name now.
EaglesRant.com said ‘device referred to by the press as the Motorola X Phone may not carry Motorola’s branding after all,’ and ‘ might just be the next ‘pure’ Google phone, contrary to initial reports that it wouldn’t be a true Nexus device.’
Another report was seen on nvonews which says that the specs would include a display of 5 inches at full HD with 1080p, a camera of 13 megapixels and a quad core processor that was classed as high performance, with 2GB of RAM.
It is thought that the OS would be Key Lime Pie.
As with all reports this of course is only speculation at the moment, however there is little doubt that the device will compete with the Samsung Galaxy S4, the HTC M7 and the Sony Experia Z, thanks to the device having a spec line up that is very impressive.
So it will be interesting to see if this will be the first Nexus handset with the Motorola branding since Google took over Motorola.
