While Motorola has attracted a lot of heat by leaving Atrix owners in the dust by not giving them the previously promised Ice Cream Sandwich update, it looks like they are trying to please fans by saying that they will not do the same with other older devices, and that many will get bumped up to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Motorola Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich & Jelly Bean Roadmap revealed
Since there are so many Motorola Android phones, the company states that it isn’t possible to update them all and hence will be giving them $100 for trading in their old Motorola for a new one.
The list is below and it basically means that if your phone is on the left then you will not be getting Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Instead you will need to buy the ones on the right to get the update. As you can see some devices like the DROID Bionic and DROID 4 are not on the left so this may mean that they will be getting the JB bump too.
It is also interesting to note that We should also point out that sources of ours said that Motorola is looking at Q1 2013 for the Android 4.1 update to roll out to the Motorola DROID RAZR, RAZR MAXX, Bionic and DROID 4. The newer DROID RAZR HD and MAXX HD should get Jelly Bean sometime in 2012 itself. So basically all the RAZRs are safe!
