Bloomberg are saying that Motorola will release a handset without a bezel before the end of the year. Their sources claim that the handset will have the whole of the front as the screen and that Motorola will do this by eliminating the black frame around the screen using an edge to edge display.
Bezel-free Android joining Motorola DROID RAZR HD this year (Bloomberg)
If this can be believed then it would truly be a next generation handset as it would eliminate everything that was not the screen. the handset would instantly jump to the top of the most wanted Android devices list and Motorola would be seen as the company leading the way in the design of handsets.
Bloomberg said that the handset would be on Verizon and they mentioned the Motorola event on 5th September, although they did not say that this is when Motorola will announce the handset (a teaser perhaps?).
As we know, Motorola is expected to unveil both the Motorola DROID RAZR HD and RAZR M on 5th September. From the leaks to date, we’ve already had a good look at both devices and they feature prominent bezels (the RAZR M even has a chin that rivals that of Jay Leno’s).
A bezel-free Android would certainly steal the limelight away from the Motorola DROID RAZR HD, especially if rumors hold true that is is expected to launch this year and hit Verizon too.
