The Apple Watch 2 may be facing some rough patches this year as they’ve got new contenders trying to topple down its spot for bestselling smartwatch. It’s expected to be released sometime in March, along with a slew of new smartwatches from Motorola, LG and many more. Heck, even traditional watchmakers like Montblanc and Tag Heuer are joining the bandwagon in incorporating silicon onto their timeless masterpieces to make them look “smart” too.
Let’s take a look into comparing the Apple Watch 2 with its strong rivals: the Moto 360 Sport and LG Urbane, and see if we’ll come across a clear winner. For starters, the Apple Watch 2 doesn’t even need to be at the CES to have itself promoted, because it really has an amazing marketing team that effortlessly overshadows other headlines of other devices. It’s rumoured to be a much “smarter” device as it has sensors for skin conductivity, blood oxygen levels and blood pressure, and might even include a front-facing camera for FaceTime interactions. Then there’s also an inclusive Wi-Fi chip that would enable it to be freed from the iPhone.
If you’re wondering whether or not the Moto 360 Sport will sport a newly-refreshed design, unfortunately, it isn’t. The Moto 360 Sport would still carry the same flat-tire display, but it’s good to know that it’s going to be water-resistant too (ultimately resulting it to be sweat-resistant). For the LG Watch Urbane 2, the wearable would sport a larger display this time with added pixels. It’s also claimed to be able to stream music with its 3G and 4G built-in antenna, so this would definitely be a fancy for avid music listeners.
It’s still too early to decide on which winner would take it all, call us bias, but we’re going to have to go with the Apple Watch 2 this round. And we would retain that unless other smartwatches have proved to be smarter than the Apple Watch (but, the LG Urbane 2 isn’t so bad after all).
