The Microsoft Lumia 950 came onto the market to try and compete against the iPhone 6S and Samsung Galaxy S6. But is there a clear winner here and how does the 950 match up against the two flagship devices?

In the past Microsoft has struggled with handsets that are able to compete against the devices from Samsung and Apple, but things may finally turn their way with the launch of the Microsoft Lumia 950.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 offers a 5.2 inch display with 2560 x 1440 resolution. The display of the Samsung Galaxy S6 is 5.1 inches and it offers the same resolution. The iPhone 6S offers the smallest display at 4.7 inches and this is 1334 x 750 pixels. The Microsoft Lumia 950 does take this category for the display.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 also takes the win for having the biggest battery. The battery in the iPhone 6S is 1715mAh, which is less than the one that came before it.

The connector on the Microsoft Lumia 950 is the USB C-Connector, the iPhone 6S has the Apple Lightning connector and the Samsung Galaxy S6 offers the micro USB port.

You can connect the Microsoft Lumia 950 up to the Microsoft Display Dock so that it can be used similar to a desktop computer running Windows. This is something that neither of the other two handsets offer.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 offers 32GB of storage and you can boost this thanks to SD card. The iPhone 6S starts at 16GB but it doesn’t support SD card and the Samsung Galaxy S6 has 32GB but not SD card support.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 has the most megapixels and this is a device that can take superb photos when in low light. The camera on the Samsung Galaxy S6 is 16MP and there is a 12MP on the iPhone 6S. all devices come with a camera of 5MP on the front.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 is available for $549 and you save $100 in comparison to the iPhone 6S. The Samsung Galaxy can be picked up for $579.99 if you go for the 32GB version. The winner is the Microsoft Lumia 950 for price.

So the Microsoft Lumia 950 has taken many wins but is this the handset you would choose over the iPhone 6S or the Samsung Galaxy S6?
