Microsoft Lumia 950: How Bad Is It, Really?

By  |

It is undeniably a difficult move for Microsoft to actually lure potential customers to make the switch from being Team Samsung or Team Apple to root for Microsoft. Perhaps it’s even safe to say that Microsoft had been seemingly desperate to bring back the good ol’ times with its latest flagship Lumia 950. But did they really think they’ve succeeded the way they want it to be?

The Lumia 950 has been getting a lot of attention since its release, but mostly negative ones. Sure, it seems to be a great turnaround for the company in hopes of getting back on track, but many were left unsatisfied with the experience they’ve gotten upon purchasing the phone.

This may seem like a very minor downside but many users were discontented with the fact that the Lumia 950 doesn’t pack itself with as many apps as they’re expected to be. Especially when you compare it when top rivals like the apps that iOS and Android devices has to offer; it’s just not something you’d be bragging about, more so if it enhances your use experience.

Others think that the Lumia 950 being a Windows 10 handset is already bad enough to begin with. It’s a phone that’s supposed to make you feel like you’re using a mini desktop and something that Microsoft would want you to feel that you could take your undying love for the Windows 10 computer anywhere you go.

That being said, it’s still not the worse phone in the market if you were to hunt through the overcrowded smartphone market, but also definitely not the best. And if you were to just be given a chance to grab this phone, would you take it?

I would certainly jump at the chance to get a Lumia 950. It is a flagship phone with impressive specs. However, it is not available and I will just have to wait for a Surface Phone. Luckily, my Lumia 1520 is still going strong.
