Some Mercedes Benz vehicles including the Mercedes Benz CLA and GLA have been getting a bit too hot under the collar. Mercedes has had to issue a recall following many reports of the vehicles catching fire.
Some reports have said that the Mercedes Benz vehicles have caught fire when the driver has tried to start the vehicle multiple times. It was said that the current limiter in the starter motor overheats and this causes a fire. The issue seems to be only with vehicles that have their engine and transmission damaged and which already has an issue starting.
In total 307, 629 units of the Mercedes-Benz are being recalled. Models that are affected are said to include the Mercedes Benz CLA, C-, E-Class, GLA and the GLC-Class crossover.
The replacement parts for the vehicles are going to be arriving in July but the carmaker said that owners will be notified by March. Up to now 51 reports of fires have been received.
