Mercedes-AMG A45 Finally Catches Up To Audi RS3
The Mercedes AMG A45 has been spotted taking a turn around the Nurburgring and it looks like it has finally been able to catch up with the Audi RS. We say this as the A45 turbo-four is going to be able to match the 400 horses offered from the RS3 but with a five cylinder instead.
The Mercedes AMG A45 was seen showing off fenders that are extremely wide and which cover the wider tracks of the vehicle. You just know what to expect to happen when the car maker decides to widen the vehicles body?
At the moment we are not sure what AMG is planning for the A45 but we think that more than likely the car maker wants to send the current gen of the A-Class off with a big bang. The wider body should come with upgrades to the chassis along with the powertrain.
The normal A45 AMG is among the most capable, not to mention the fastest, of hatchbacks but the newer version with the full name of the Mercedes AMG A45 S is going to be hotter and the 2 litre turbocharged engine should offer up 400 horses.
When it comes to the name Mercedes may go for the Black Series nameplate, this is the one that is on other wide bodied vehicles, or it may go down the path of the AMG GT R or perhaps Mercedes will simply stick with the Mercedes AMG A45 S.
