Mazda 3 Facelift Isn’t Going To Offer Up Turbochargers, Next Gen Only

By  |

The Mazda 3 Facelift is going to be produced and enter into the mass market and it should make its arrival over on US soil soon. The facelift is going to bring with it plenty of upgrades, however anyone who is hoping to see the arrival of the turbocharged SkyActiv engine are going to be very disappointed.

This is due to the fact that the Mazda 3 Facelift isn’t going to offer up the turbocharged engine. This does come as something of a disappointment due to the fact that Mazda did say that the engine would arrive in all vehicles and it would start with the Mazda CX-9.

Of course many people have said that this should have been expected on a facelift as the engine is only going to arrive on the next generation model. No one should expect to see a new engine on a mid-cycle refresh.

There is a bright side to this and this is that we shouldn’t have too long to wait until we get to see the SkyActiv turbocharged engine before 2020. The bigger question is whether the Mazda 3 turbo will make people find out all about the older Mazdaspeed 3.
