Maserati Alfieri EV Doesn’t Want Tesla Buyers

By  |

Maserati and the Maserati Alfieri EV are not targeting the customers of Tesla as they are going after consumers of the Porsche 911 and the Jaguar F-Type.

Maserati had said that they would start to sell electric cars by 2020 but we don’t have to wait to find out what the vehicles are going to look like as we have already been treated to a look.

The Maserati Alfieri EV is going to offer the V6 engine and while it will be a bigger vehicle than the Porsche 911, it is going to be in competition with it. We expect the gas version of it to be on sale by 2019, which is a long way off from the original launch date, which was said to be 2016 and have a V8 engine.

While the design of the Maserati Alfieri EV has been revealed, we don’t have any idea as to how much the vehicle is going to cost. Recently the CEO said that there wasn’t anything that Elon Musk and Tesla could do that Maserati couldn’t. However on saying this 2020 is a long way off yet and things could change during this time. After all just three years back you would not have thought that Tesla would have taken 400,000 pre-orders for an electric vehicle.

But what do you think about the Maserati Alfieri EV?
