Samsung Galaxy S3 vs LG Optimus G

The LG Optimus G comes packed with innovative features and some great specs, just like the Samsung Galaxy S3. The 4.7 inch display is WXGA True HD IPS Plus with a resolution of 1280 x 768. It has a 16:9 aspect ratio and it could beat the S3 as the premium Android smartphone thanks to some added extras. the UX interface is superb and the handset weighs 145g and measures 131.9 x 68.9 x 8.45mm.

The processor running the Samsung Galaxy S3 is an Exynos quad core while the LG have the Krait Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro at 1.5GHz. LG’s S4 Pro features newer architecture and beats both the international quad-core and the US dual-core chipsets in the S3. It has 2GB of RAM which is double that of the Samsung Galaxy S3 (international version).

The Optimus G comes with Android 4.0 ICS and may get the update to Jelly Bean just like the Samsung Galaxy S3. It has support for 2G, 3G and 4G LTE. It also packs in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0, NFC, A-GPS and DLNA.

The camera on the LG Optimus G stands out at 13 megapixels and there is also a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front. The Samsung Galaxy S3 on the other hand comes with an 8 megapixel camera.

When it comes to the battery the LG Optimus has a 2,210mAh which gives around 15 hours of talk time and LG are very proud of it. It tops the 2,100mAh battery in the Samsung Galaxy S3

At the moment there is no price set for the LG Optimus G and it is thought that it will be available around October of 2012. Looking at the specs sheet, it matches the Samsung Galaxy S3 in many areas but at the same time has it beat when it comes to the processor, camera and even battery life. So based on its specs sheet, it does appear to have the Samsung Galaxy S3 beat.
