Over the past few weeks, rumors of an LG Nexus 5 coming sooner than expected have bombarded the media. There was even more fuel thrown into the rumor fire when details came about that the Korean giant was ceasing LG Nexus 4 production to concentrate on it.
LG Nexus 5 not replacing Nexus 4 so soon, GK coming instead (rumor)
Since then, LG has denied such rumors. So then what is that mystery device LG talked about at CES? According to a Korean news agency, it is the LG GK and not the LG Nexus 5 or even Optimus G2.
We first heard of the LG GK in early October. Speculations said it would match the 1080p HD display of the Sony Xperia Z and HTC DROID DNA with a 5.5-inch full HD offering of its own. I would also boast a quad-core processor.
Now word is that it will in fact release in Q1 2013 and take the spot as the new LG flagship. As for the LG Optimus G2 and Nexus 5, we shouldn’t be expecting it anytime in this quarter apparently. At least that’s the word from South Korean sources.
