The LG Optimus G has been going great guns in the US, and now it’s about to hit China and Europe. There are also rumours of an updated handset called the Optimus G Pro, and these rumours have been confirmed by promotional material and rendered images.
The G Pro device is known as the NTT DoCoMo, and it has a 5” HD screen and a 3,000mAh battery. There’s also talk of a device with a 5.5” screen, and this may be revealed at MWC later this month.
This rumoured handset is believed to be competition for the Samsung Galaxy s4, the Sony Xperia Z and the HTC M7.
The first LG Optimus G was the basis for the LG Nexus 4, and so if there’s an LG Nexus 5 on the way, this new device could be the forefather.
What do you think of a Nexus handset that will sport a 5” HD, 1080x1920p screen? What if it also has a quad-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon chip, LTE support, 2GB of RAM and a 13MP rear camera? Sounds impressive.
This LG Optimus Pro might have a 3,140mAh battery and a 5.5” screen, a unibody design and 32GB of internal storage, as well as SD support for up to 64GB.
While the LG Nexus 4 has great hardware, it has no LTE and only stores up to 16GB, so the Nexus 5 will sort all these deficits out.
