The LG Nexus 4 has the 1.5GHz quad core processor from Qualcomm along with 2GB. The Apple iPhone 5 has 1GB of RAM and comes with the A6 1.2GHz dual core processor. The Samsung Galaxy S3 depends on where you live. If you are in the US then you will have the dual core processor and 2GB of RAM. Internationally you get the quad core and 1GB of RAM. Therefore the LG Nexus 4 is the winner as it comes with quad core and 2GB.

The screen on the LG Nexus 4 is 4.7 inches and is has a resolution of 1280 x 768. The Apple iPhone 5 meanwhile has the resolution of 1136 x 640 and it comes with a display of 4 inches. The Samsung Galaxy S3 meanwhile comes with the largest display at 4.8 inches and this has a resolution of 1280 x 720. The LG Nexus 4 and the Apple iPhone 5 have both got IPS screens while that of the Samsung Galaxy S3 is Super AMOLED. The Super AMOLED display can look hyper real and it suffers when outside. IPS is the winner here as it does have colours that tend to be more realistic and it does well outside. As the LG Nexus 4 comes with the biggest of the IPS screens it wins.

The LG Nexus 4 is available in 8GB or 16GB but it does lack SD card support. The Apple iPhone 5 is offered in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB and it also lacks SD card support. The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with 16GB and 32GB options and it has support for SD card up to 64GB. This means that it comes out on top.

You could get around 15 hours with the LG Nexus 4 as it has a battery of 2100mAh. The other two devices both last around 8 hours.  The Apple iPhone 5 wins in real life tests, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is behind it and then the LG Nexus 4 was in last place.

If you need NFC then you have to choose between the LG Nexus 4 and the Samsung Galaxy S3. For LTE you have to decide between the Samsung Galaxy S3 or the Apple iPhone 5. If both is needed then it’s the Samsung Galaxy S3.

All handsets have 8 megapixel cameras which record in 1080p, have LED flash and autofocus. The LG Nexus 4 along with the Apple iPhone 5 have both got cameras of 1.2 megapixels and the Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with a 1.9 megapixel front camera. The Apple iPhone 5 wins for the BSI sensor as it can take superb photos in low light conditions. The LG Nexus 4 comes with Photosphere, while the Samsung Galaxy S3 can take video and photos at the same time. However it doesn’t beat the BSI sensor of the Apple iPhone 5.

The LG Nexus 4 is 129 grams and it measures 133.9mmx68.7mmx9.1mm. The Samsung Galaxy is 136.6×70.6mmx8.6mm and 122 grams and the Apple iPhone 5 is the lightest with 112 grams in weight and it happens to be the thinnest too.

The LG Nexus 4 has pure Android 4.2.2 and this should get updated faster than the Samsung Galaxy S3. The Apple iPhone 5 has iOS 6.1 and this happens to be the most stable and streamlined of the two handsets. For personalisation it would have to be Android. Here you might want to choose between the Apple iPhone 5 and the LG Nexus 4 thanks to the fact that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is the only device in the bunch that may not get updates in years to come.

If you want a great looking device then you might want to choose the Apple iPhone 5, additionally iOS is one of the easiest operating systems to master. The Apple iPhone 5 comes with a camera that you cannot beat but it lacks when it comes to hardware and connectivity options isn’t as wide. Some even say the OS is somewhat restrictive. The LG Nexus 4 should be top of the list where price is a concern, but it lacks storage and LTE but gains points for hardware. If you want a device that is all-round a good buy then you may wish to get the Samsung Galaxy S3 as it lives up to its flagship status. It has plenty of storage, LTE, NFC, a battery that is removable and it supports SD card, has extra S-features, along with a price tag that is decent and largest display of the lot. This makes it the winner and since the release of the Samsung Galaxy S4 the price has come down to $480 only.
