Google’s big day is finally here, which of course is the release of the LG Nexus 4 and the Nexus 10. Today they have also told us about the version of Jelly Bean that will ship out on the handsets, which is Android 4.2. The Nexus 7 will also have the same OS.
New Android update brings 2 more features to Nexus devices before shipping
One of the things that the new Nexus lacked was multi user accounts, and lock screen widgets had not made an appearance on the device either when Android 4.2 was announced in October. However today this will change when the update starts rolling out tonight and both of these features will be seen on these Nexus devices first.
So the LG Nexus 4 and 10 will come with all the features that have already been talked about, plus these two new ones.
Lock screen widgets will allow users to customise their lock screen with widgets. These will include calendar and email apps, Sound Search, which recognizes music and a lot more. 3rd party developers are also able to make widgets which can be used and to make the most of the camera users can unlock straight to the camera app.
Multi-user support means that users will be able to share the tablet. Each will be able to customise the home screen to their own liking with apps, email and wall paper. They can also create their own folders and have apps and widgets in their own arrangement.
When the LG Nexus 4 and 10 is in the stores you can look forward to what should be one of the crispest and neatest Android 4.2 versions.
