Samsung Galaxy Nexus Has A Successor (Not LG Nexus 4)

While the Samsung Galaxy Nexus was one of last year’s most popular smartphones, this year the honor of the next Nexus phone has been passed to LG in the way of the LG Nexus 4.

Samsung Galaxy Premier boasts Galaxy Nexus styling & S3 hardware

However it is important to note that while Google gets to pick which manufacturer produces the next Nexus phone, the hardware and design doesn’t have to stop there. With that in mind, there is now a successor the popular Samsung Galaxy Nexus sans the Nexus part.

The successor to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the Galaxy Premier GT-I9260. The Premier is similar to the Nexus in styling while the hardware matches the Samsung Galaxy S3. Overall it seems to be an improved version of the Nexus GT-I9260. The device is white, slim and features a 4.65 inch HD Super AMOLED display with a pixel resolution of 316ppi.

The handset comes with 1GB of RAM and is available in either 8GB or 16GB internal storage and there is an SD slot to boost storage externally. The handset comes with an 8 megapixel camera on the back and a camera of 1.3 megapixels on the front. It features support for NFC and it has a battery of 2100mAh and all the features you would expect, such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0, along with HSPA+. Some regions will also get 4G LTE versions of the device. The Samsung Galaxy Premier hasn’t come with a price tag yet and Samsung will be revealing the device in Europe next month. At the moment there is no word as to when it might be out in other parts of the world.
