A French newspaper has said that Google and LG will launch the highly anticipated Google Nexus 4 later this month. The paper said that the handset would be announced to the world on 29th October and it would be available in France on the Vodafone SFR network by December. If the report is true then it could be unveiled at the Dive into Mobile conference which is held in New York too.
Upcoming LG Nexus 4 headed to Google Play Store on 29th?
The article in the paper also suggests that along with the announcement of the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, there will also be a product launch. If so, it would be the first Nexus handset to be available following its announcement since the Nexus One. The Nexus 4 is being released in the Google Play Store and this is why they are able to pull it off so fast. Of course the newspaper may have not heard right and it could come about that only the announcement will be made on 29th October.
The LG Nexus 4 name also cropped up today in a leaked photo from what was said to be the inventory system of Carphone Warehouse. It is thought the device name could be taken from the fact that it is the 4th smartphone in the Nexus line up.
So if you’re thinking of getting a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, it may be wise to hang on for a while and see what Google has planned later this year.
