We thought that the most elusive handset of late would be the iPhone 5, but it’s easy to bag from any Apple Store. The phone that’s proving hard to find is the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean LG Nexus 4.
LG Nexus 4 shortage problems unacceptable
It came out last November, and it’s been rare ever since. Ever since its release date, shipping times for the LG Nexus 4 have been falling further and further behind – if you place an order now, you won’t see a shipping date until late February!
In the Android arena, easy availability is paramount. I’m OK waiting for months for an iPhone, as Apple won’t be releasing anything else for up to a year. With Androids, there’ll be something bigger, faster and better just weeks away.
Between now and the end of February, there’ll be any number of spanking new Androids that match or beat the LG Nexus 4. If you’re stuck waiting for one, there’s bound to be something along to divert you before much longer.
I’ve got an Android app from the Google Play Store – the Nexus 4 Stock Alert, and this’ll send me notification as soon as new Nexus 4 phones arrive into my nearest (as in US, UK, Australia and Germany) Google Play Store. But – as I’m already looking forward to the Samsung Galaxy S4, the HTC M7, Motorola X and Sony Xperia Z, I may get this notification a few days too late.
