LG Nexus 4 Won’t Float My Boat Much Longer

Whoda thunk it? We thought the most elusive handset this holiday period would have been the iPhone 5, but you can easily get your hands on one at any Apple Store. The one that’s proving to be rarer than hens’ teeth is the LG Nexus 4 on Jelly Bean 4.2.

LG Nexus 4 still sold out in Google Play Store

Since it came out a month ago, the LG Nexus 4 has been a rare sight, and we’re still seeing shipping times recede into the far future. If you order one now (and you’ll be lucky if you can do that), you won’t get a shipping date for earlier than February.
In the Android arena, fast availability is everything. It’s OK to wait a few weeks or months for something like the iPhone 5, as I know there’ll only be one release in a year, but there are new and tastier Android devices out every five minutes.

Before February – or even January – is out, other Android smartphones will be released or announced, and they’ll be just as good, if not better, than the LG Nexus 4. If you’re growing impatient, some snazzy little number will draw you in.

I have actually downloaded an app from the Google Play Store – the Nexus 4 Stock Alert. It’ll let me know as soon as new stock hits my local Google Play Store (meaning the US, the UK, Australia and Germany). This is great, but with rumours about the Samsung Galaxy S4, the Motorola Nexus X and the HTC M7, I may get that alert a few days too late!
