With Kia promising that they will be offering 16 electrified models by 2025, they better start offering them soon.
The first electric model that we should be seeing from Kia in the near future is the Kia Niro EV Concept which Kia showed off at CES this year. The vehicle was fitted with an electric powertrain that will be powered by a 64kWh lithium-polymer battery that will be offering about 201hp.
The concept was also fitted with a few new features like the Human Machine Interface which will allow the driver to log in to the car using their face and voice. The system will recognize the driver and adjust the vehicle based on the driver’s preference.
While the vehicle did carry forward some of the design features from the Niro, it was also given a few design upgrades of its own. Unlike the standard model, the Kia Niro EV will not be given a grille since it will not need it to cool off the engine. The grille will be replaced with the new interactive display panel which will show various messages.
No word on when this will be arriving.
