Kia will be issuing a new recall to recall back their Kia Forte after it was reported that there might be something wrong the brake lights.

It has been reported that the polymer stopper pad in between the brake pedal arm and the light switch can deteriorate over time. If that happen, the brake lights will be turned on all the time. Not only that but because the brake light is on, the vehicle will assume that the brake is being applied which means drivers can actually shift out of park without stepping on the brake pedal.

Kia reported that 134000 units of the Kia Forte will be affected by the recall. Affected models will include those from 2012 to 2014. Dealers will replace the stopped pads on those affected by the recall starting from the 30th of January.

Besides Kia Forte, the Hyundai Elantra will also be affected by the same issue.
