Jeep Opens Up About Smaller Cousin To Renegade
Bosses at Jeep have spoken up about a smaller cousin to the Jeep Renegade coming our way and this would fall in under the current Renegade on the market.
The carmaker hopes that a smaller SUV for Europe would entice the younger generation and it may come with the TwinAir two-cylinder petrol engine, which would help in keeping down the C02 emissions.
At the LA Auto Show the head of Jeep said that the company isn’t going to ignore the trend for downsizing is some of the more developed worlds, including Japan and Europe.
He went on to say that they were looking at bringing out the smaller cousin to the Jeep Renegade and he also spoke up about that fact that in some markets there was a strong emergence of the A segment or super compact SUVs.
So it is looking as though now is the perfect time for Jeep to offer up a vehicle that will come in under the Jeep Renegade. Of course whether a baby SUV is going to go down well in Australia is another matter, as the Renegade hasn’t been doing all that well.
When it arrives the baby Jeep Renegade may be around 3.8m in length and this vehicle could fall in nicely with the rest of the line-up, including the Renegade at 4.2 metres and the Compass at 4.4m.
