…even when they are poised to win this year’s Nürburgring race, yet again?
There isn’t a doubt that the Subaru WRX STi is one hell of a performance car, although looking largely familiar of that of the Impreza. But the WRX STi rumour mill has been suggesting that it’s high time for the racecar to step down, in order for a more powerful 2016 Ford Focus RS to take over its spot.
When the WRX STi first came out, it was widely-received with positive feedbacks; the 2.5 turbocharged boxer four, six-speed manual, 4wd, massive rear wing, and unholy grip levels would certainly have all your questions answered. It was (actually still is), hands down, one of the best performance cars around. Until Focus RS came along.
At the heart of the RS lies a 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine, turbocharged as well, and comes with 4 cylinders. If you haven’t noticed already, it has exactly the same engine as that of the Ford Mustang. The powerful engine would have the vehicle dashing from standstill to 60mph in only 4.7 seconds.
So, which of the two do you prefer? And do you really think it’s time for the Subaru WRX STi to fall behind?
