The Android vs iPhone battle continues with the latest survey coming from none other than Apple. According to some new internal documents that surfaced during the Samsung-Apple trial, one of the reasons for Android’s popularity may have to do with iPhone’s limited carrier distributorship.
iPhone vs Android survey
According to the survey results, 48 percent stated “Wanted to stay with current provider” as a motivating factor to pick Android over iPhone.
This beat the other options: Trusting the Google brand (36 percent); Liking Google Play Store more (27 percent); 30 percent for screen size; and 25 percent for free turn-by-turn navigation.
This clearly showed that the AT&T iPhone exclusivity was terrible for iPhone sales and indirectly also boosted the Verizon DROID branding in the US.
With the iPhone 5 rumored to come to AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and a number of smaller carriers, we may see very different results for this fall.
