When the iPhone 4S was launched last year there were some changes that were noticed. One of these was the battery life of the handset. Users were turning off features so as to make the battery last longer. With the introduction of iOS 6 it is happening again but on a smaller scale reports PhoneReviews.
iOS 6 update brings about complaints of poor battery life
When you consider just how many iPhone 5 units have been sold, it is easy to see why so many people have issues. Right now there are millions of people who want iOS 6 and who are downloading it, therefore problems will show up on a larger scale than they would on the new iPhone 5 alone and very quickly. There has already been other problems reported with iOS 6, one of which is the new Apple map app, which many say is letting iOS down. However that is an app and hence can be ignored by users. With battery life, it is not so easy.
PR explains that readers have got in contact to say that they are experiencing battery life problems following the update to iOS 6 on their iPhone 4 and 4S. Some have even said that after the update the battery life is ridiculous. From the minute that the handset reboots into iOS 6, the battery drains like mad.
The support community over at Apple have received hundreds of complaints; some consumers have seen the battery drop below the 15% mark in just hours. As their iPhones worked fine before updating, the problem has to lie with iOS 6.
Apple does have an excellent track record for being able to fix things fast and so hopefully things will settle down in a couple of weeks.
