iPhone 6S, Lumia 950 and Samsung Galaxy S6: The Gloves Are On

By  |

When Microsoft launched the Microsoft Lumia 950 it came onto the market competing against handsets that included the iPhone 6S and the Samsung Galaxy S6. So the gloves are on but which of the devices is going to be the one left standing?

Up to now Microsoft hasn’t been having a great deal of luck with handsets but perhaps the Microsoft Lumia 950 is going to help them change that.

The display of the Microsoft Lumia 950 is 2560 x 1440 QHD resolution. This is the same resolution as on the Samsung Galaxy S6, however the display is 5.1 inches. The iPhone 6S comes with the 4.7 inch display and this is 1334 x 750 pixels. This means that for the display the winner has to be the Microsoft Lumia 950.

The biggest battery is found on the Microsoft Lumia 950 and so it wins over the iPhone 6S and the Samsung Galaxy S6. The iPhone offers a 1715mAh battery but this isn’t as big as the one from the previous year.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 comes with the reversible USB type C-Connector while the Samsung Galaxy S6 offers up the micro USB type and the iPhone 6S comes with the Apple Lighting connector. This means that there really isn’t any clear winner.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 can be connected up to a Microsoft Display Dock so that the owner can use it as a Windows 10 computer. The Samsung Galaxy S6 and the iPhone 6S doesn’t offer this. This means that the Lumia is the winner.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 is offered in 32GB storage but you can extend this via SD card. The Samsung Galaxy S6 is also offered with 32GB but it doesn’t support SD card and the iPhone 6S has 16GB and cannot be expanded either. This means that again the winner is the Lumia 950.

Going on the most megapixels it is the Microsoft Lumia 950 that wins and it also offers OIS and takes great photos in low light. It wins over the iPhone 6S which has a 12MP camera and the Samsung Galaxy S6 offering the 16MP camera. All three offer up a camera of 5MP on the front.

You can get hold of the Microsoft Lumia 950 for $549 and this is savings of $100 when compared with the iPhone 6S. The price tag of the Samsung Galaxy S6 is $579.99 if you go for the 32GB version. This means that once again the winner is the Lumia.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 has taken a lot of points here so we believe that it comes out ahead of the iPhone 6S and the Samsung Galaxy S6.
